Feeling Stressed? Get Involved!

20 02 2012

One of the main stressors in college life is having multiple things on your plate to deal with. But sometimes, the only way to relieve yourself from being overly stressed is to become even busier. And what better way to busy yourself up then by participating in a student group or organization.

There are many reasons why joining a student organization can help de-stress you. When you become more involved in a student group, you are forced to improve upon your time management skills and develop a schedule to get tasks accomplished. Also, it will help to improve your leadership skills when planning programs or other activities.

For some people, taking their mind off of one type of stress and putting it on a different type of stress can make them feel less stressed (it’s weird, but it can work…trust me, I would know). But as you can tell, there are benefits to joining student organizations whether you are feeling stressed or not.

Towson University offers a wide variety of student groups to get involved in and you can even start your own group if you plan it out properly. Student organizations are friendly, exciting and an all around good way to spend your free time at college.

I agree and disagree, I agree that you transfer to a different type of stress, but its still stress.
